Get together with several people around a theme

Support groups

I have found that support groups are a therapeutic approach in their own right and are very effective.

A support group brings together several people with the same problem and going through a common crisis.

Various themes can be addressed using this method, such as:

  • Relationship difficulties and/or breakup,

  • Complications with one or more children,

  • Homosexuality in the family,

  • Education of children with disabilities,

  • Educate your children about sexual health from a young age,

  • Mourning,

  • Being a caregiver in the family (supporting a spouse, parents, children, etc.),

  • Having had an abortion (voluntary termination of pregnancy),

  • Any situation that poses a difficulty (temporary or not) and makes you suffer more or less.

How does a discussion group work?

The main objective of a discussion group is to provide a space that allows for effective communication on the difficulties encountered in a common problem.

This is an opportunity to experience interactions in a different way than you might experience with those around you. In fact, loved ones are often judgmental and can even instill guilt, even without meaning to!

A framework is established to guarantee everyone's safety in speaking.

Following an initial presentation of each member, an open discussion takes place within the group.

During the discussions, each participant expresses their feelings and experiences. They express their situation through their own perspective, in line with the group's theme.

The various avenues that emerge will be considered or ignored by each person. This allows them to become caregivers themselves, and also to better understand their own functioning, thanks to listening and feedback from others.

Thus, this sharing will be beneficial for each member of the group and will allow each individual to acquire greater self-confidence.

Of course, this exchange time is framed with respect and confidentiality. It is generally organized once every 4-6 weeks and brings together between 5 and 10 participants maximum.

The advantage of my support groups? You don't have to travel! Audrey's Consultations come to your home.

A discussion group lasts 1.5 hours. Prices are subject to change based on the number of participants.
