What is family therapy?

Strengthening ties and overcoming crises!

Every family is unique, but the events that trigger tensions or crises are often similar. Family therapy provides a space to understand and resolve difficulties that affect the group's balance.

Why family therapy?

The therapy is based on the idea that a member's discomfort may be linked to dysfunctions in family interactions. Even if only one person expresses discomfort (the "symptom carrier"), family counseling addresses the relationships and dynamics of the entire group to resolve the crisis collectively.

When to consult as a family?

There are many reasons to see a family therapist, including:

  • Adolescent crisis or tensions between generations

  • Arrival of a new child or family rearrangement

  • Separation or divorce

  • Blended families : managing ex-spouses, stepchildren, or in-laws

  • Intercultural Unions and their Challenges

  • Domestic violence (physical or verbal)

  • Mourning the loss of a loved one

  • Departure of adult children (empty nest syndrome)

  • Violent children or difficult behavior

These situations can worsen family ties if not addressed promptly. Therapy provides a neutral space to step back and restore harmony within the home.
